FTC disclosure
The FTC expects a clear and conspicuous disclosure whenever there is a material connection between a creator and a brand, including payment and free product. The FTC guidance says to use plain words like ad, advertisement or sponsored, and to avoid vague tags like sp, collab or thanks.
- Every contract includes the disclosure duty.
- When a creator submits a post, we check the caption for a clear disclosure marker and ask the creator to confirm the post carries it.
- A post cannot be marked complete, and the fee for it is not earned, until that check passes and the brand approves.
- We warn when the disclosure is buried deep in the caption. For stories and video, the creator must also show it in the content itself.

Adults only
Creators must be 18 or older and confirm it at signup. Brands booking alcohol or other age-restricted categories are responsible for age rules at their event.
Location privacy
Check-in asks for location only at the moment of arrival and only if the creator agrees. There is no background tracking. A manual check-in is always available and gets reviewed.
Audience numbers
Follower counts are self-reported unless a creator uploads a screenshot that our team has reviewed, which earns a verified badge. Reach and view numbers in results are reported by creators and labeled that way. Link clicks are counted by us, with bots and repeat clicks removed.
Disputes
Either side can open a dispute from a contract. Dropby reviews the check-in, content links and contract and decides a fair adjustment.
